Very inspiring take on how to cope with diabetes. As a nurse I am always skeptical of medical information, but found that this book was solidly researched. I learned things that I did not know, and definitely feel glad that I decided to give this book a chance. I appreciated that the author went into the mental aspects of dealing with a diagnosis. The writing felt like it was straight from the heart. The recipes also look good, although I haven't tried them yet (I plan to!). All in all, motivational, personal, well written, and a great resource.

I was looking for a good Diabetes book as my Dad have it, i found it very useful and would recommend the recipes present in the book.
The book shares recent research explained in simple words and practical tips on how to live with diabetes. How to incorporate lifestyle changes from a patients perspective . Also, I did appreciate complicated medical diet charts that were explained with simple recipes that diabetic could follow. A good read for patients with diabetes that are looking for practical tips to manage their lifestyle
Reading through the book, I found some very interesting facts about diabetes. The Author cleared up a few things that had us confused, over a problem a member of our family has. The diet section was especially helpful. The Author has done an excellent job in my opinion explaining the do's and don'ts for a person with Diabetes.
This book gives you all the basic information that one needs to be informed about type 2 diabetes. It provides great tips on managing diabetes such as improve your quality of sleep and why you should stop smoking to improve your overall well being while living with diabetes.Start with this book and maybe you will end with it, there are a lot of facts.
Whether you have diabete or look for a way to prevent it this book is the right ressource to it. I liked the fact that the author is sharing his experience and life in the process. It makes the book more interesting. I really liked reading it and know how to prevent it now. Of course there will always be a risk, but at least I know better. The cherry on the cake is that he added delicious recipes that any type II diabetes can make and eat without having to fear any problem.

Whether you are a diabetic or whether you just want to understand the issues so that you can take necessary precautions, this book is a must read - i simply cannot recommend it enough. The author carefully interweaves his personal story into a book packed with so much information that it is bound to strike a chord. In fact the personal story is what makes the book as well as the nuggets of information memorable.

The author when faced with the knowledge that he had Type 2 Diabetes, has focused his energy on conducting diligent research and bringing it together in a compelling compilation. He has backed his information with real world research and destroys several myths in that process.

What is even more awesome is that he has included some super tasty recipes that people with Diabetes should be able to consume without incurring any risks. All in all, I found this book very useful and will recommend it to anyone interested in knowing the latest information and suggestions on coping with this ailment and managing it so that it does not affect their lives.
